Sierra J Seaman, MD
Overview
Dr. Sierra Seaman is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in the Division of Gynecologic Specialty Surgery, specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of complex gynecologic conditions, including fibroids, endometriosis, abnormal uterine bleeding, intrauterine pathology, pelvic pain, ovarian cysts, and infertility with a special interest in fertility optimization.
After earning her medical degree at the University of Virginia, she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as her Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and Complex Gynecologic Conditions at CUIMC. She received several awards during this time including the prestigious Jay M. Cooper Foundation of the AAGL Signature Award, the AAGL award for Excellence in Minimally Invasive Surgery, the Excellence in Teaching Award, induction into the Gold Humanism Honors Society, and a 100K grant for the Future of Robotics. Dr. Seaman's 3-year AAGL-accredited fellowship training alongside experts in minimally invasive surgery provided her with specialized training and expertise in the fields of advanced robotics, laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. She remains heavily involved in medical education with a goal to advance the future of surgical training through didactics, simulation, and coaching.
Dr. Seaman is an advocate for patient-centered care and favors a minimally invasive approach to surgery. She aims to provide exceptional care to each individual patient.
