Alessandra I. Hirsch, MD
Overview
Alessandra Hirsch, MS MD is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and New York-Presbyterian Allen Hospital. She is proud to care for patients throughout their lifetimes and her clinical practice includes in-office care, inpatient obstetrics, and surgical gynecology.
Dr. Hirsch is a New York native and received her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from Cornell University. She then obtained a Master's degree in Physiology and Biophysics from Georgetown University before headig to medical school at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Chicago where she received the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism & Excellence in Teaching Award.
Dr. Hirsch is a published author with a focus on advocacy. She has written articles on the COVID pandemic and reproductive justice for papers such as the Buffalo Times and the Baltimore Sun. Her clinical interests mirror her writing, and she believes in caring for all who need gynecologic care, including adolescents, the trans- and gender-diverse community, and any patients seeking compassionate, evidence-based care.
