Throughout medical school and her early career, the profound experiences of patients facing reproductive choices deeply influenced Dr. Sinem Karipcin, inspiring her to blend her scientific interests in genetics and assisted reproductive technologies. With over ten years of expertise in fertility and genetics, Dr. Sinem Karipcin is an expert in reducing the risk of genetically heritable diseases. She is the founding Director of the Pre-Pregnancy Genetics Program which oversees preimplantation genetic testing at Columbia University Fertility Center. This program combines the expertise of specialists from multiple disciplines, aiming to empower families at risk of passing on genetic diseases to make informed reproductive decisions.
Dr. Karipcin is the Officer of Clinical Application in the Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis International Society and actively participates in the American Society of Reproductive Medicine's PGT interest group. Additionally, Dr. Karipcin conducts ongoing research in the field of Reproductive Genetics.
