Division of General Obstetrics & Gynecology: Columbia University Medical Center
Unit Head
Columbia University Irving Medical Center’s Division of Obstetrics & Gynecology serves the New York City area, with outpatient services in midtown Manhattan and Washington Heights and labor and delivery at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital. The integration of labor and delivery with the children’s hospital at NewYork-Presbyterian gives our physicians the ability to offer every available diagnostic and therapeutic option for both mothers and babies. It’s one of only a few hospitals nationally that has labor and delivery in the same building as the children’s hospital, so mother and baby never need to be separated. Physicians in the division deliver approximately 4,800 babies each year. Our gynecologists provide general well-woman care and also have special training to treat conditions such as hormonal disorders that affect the reproductive organs. They offer a full range of gynecological care options, exploring the nonsurgical and surgical options to treat abnormal Pap smears, sexually transmitted diseases, menstrual irregularities, menopausal symptoms, fibroids, and pelvic pain.
